1) One of this morning's readings was #66 of Baltasar Gracian's The Art of Worldly Wisdom, that begins "Take care to make things turn out well." In other words, it doesn't matter how much effort you put in unless you have a success. An important message with Reunions two months away.

2) Yesterday was such a good day. I didn't accomplish everything on my weekend list, but I walked almost an hour through the arboretum, wrote a column I feel good about and posted it, got to spend time with one friend for a couple hours in the afternoon and another in the evening, and talk with my mother on the phone. These days feel so rare.

3) Distracted this morning by the current journey of an artist I admire, a Flickr friend who has had some trouble wrestling with a personal problem.
