1) Our first real snowstorm of the season dropped last night, creating the usual Winter Wonderland outside.
1a) Absolutely not setting foot into it! I’ll wait until it stops falling to start shoveling.
2) Mother once said that somebody once said that the definition of Eternity is one ham and two people. This year, for my second Noël seul, I ordered a ham (because all the turkey breasts were already gone). My sister’s family had already sent me a nice box of a dozen pears, so you can imagine my surprise at finding a second box of pears on the doorstep last night. Last night I surfed around for some pear/ham recipes, and found a relatively easy one for pear-glazed ham, and other hamless pear recipes that involve poaching, and an upside-down cake.
2a) So Daddy will be eating a lot of pears this Christmas, and sharing with the neighbors!
3) Next week in Christmas, and I still haven’t mailed one card. That needs to be corrected starting . . . now.
