2) Reading the evening news on the way home and at dinner felt more apocalyptic than usual.
3) Not long ago I joined a Joan Crawford appreciation group of ye Fycebykke. This evening someone posted a photo of her in a movie I haven’t seen, The Gorgeous Hussy, suggesting it might have been her screen test for Gone With the Wind. Needless to say THAT discussion has been interesting, but it just led me to quote Alicia Rhett as India Wilkes saying “You’ve done everything you can to lower the prestige of decent people . . .” . . . which brought me right back to 2) above.
