Sunday Morning, May 27

1) Parlor coffee and devotional yielded an appropriate description of the world now, Acts 19:32: "Some therefore cried one thing, and some another: for the assembly was confused: and the more part knew not wherefore they were come together."

2) I attempted a second cup of coffee on the back porch, but it's just too chilly today.

3) The time of flowering trees has passed. The redbud tree is now clothed in feathery green. The lilacs have faded, but not the rhododendrons are blossoming, and this morning I even spied the first red poppy (a relic from the previous owner's landscaping) blooming.
